How quota works
The short version of how the free tier hour is counted, when it resets, and what to do when it runs out.
What you get on the free tier
- 1 hour of cloud Linux per week. No credit card required.
- A full Ubuntu container with Claude Code, Codex CLI, OpenCode, and Gemini CLI pre-installed.
- The same isolated workspace you would get on a paid plan, just capped.
When the clock ticks
The timer runs while your container is on. That means it keeps counting when:
- You close the Cosyra app.
- You switch to another app and the phone backgrounds Cosyra.
- Your phone is locked or asleep.
- A long-running command, build, or AI agent is still working.
The clock is wall-clock time on our servers, not foreground time on your phone. If you want to pause the clock, stop the container from the app.
Why this matters. If you start a 30-minute build and put the phone in your pocket, you used 30 minutes of quota. The container kept running, so the clock kept counting.
When it resets
- Quota resets weekly. Each user has their own anchor based on the weekday and time of day they signed up.
- Example: if you signed up on a Tuesday at 9:00 PM, your hour resets every Tuesday at 9:00 PM.
- You can see the next reset time in the app on the quota screen.
What happens when it runs out
- The terminal locks. Your container is stopped.
- You see a countdown to your next reset, with the option to upgrade for more time.
- Your files and workspace are not deleted. They are waiting for you when the clock resets or when you upgrade.
How to extend your time now
If you do not want to wait for the weekly reset, upgrade to Cosyra Pro for more hours. Pricing and plan details are on the pricing page.
