Terms of Service

Key Points
- Your code is yours. We don't claim ownership of anything you create.
- We don't train AI on your code. Your private code stays private.
- You're responsible for your API keys. Keep them secure.
- Don't do illegal things. No hacking, mining crypto, or abusing our systems.
- We can terminate accounts that violate these terms.
- Our liability is limited. We're not responsible for data loss or damages beyond what you paid us.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Cosyra's mobile application, website, cloud terminal infrastructure, and related services (collectively, the "Service") provided by Portable Software, Corp. ("Cosyra," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Using Cosyra
1.1 Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use Cosyra. If you are between 16 and 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.
1.2 Your Account
You're responsible for:
- Keeping your account credentials secure
- All activity that happens under your account
- Notifying us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access
Don't share your account or let others use it.
1.3 License to Use
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your personal or internal business purposes. You may not:
- Sublicense, sell, or redistribute the Service
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
- Use the Service to build a competing product
- Remove any proprietary notices from the Service
2. Your Code and Content
2.1 You Own Your Code
Your code belongs to you. We don't claim any ownership rights to the code, files, or other content you create, upload, or store using Cosyra. Any intellectual property rights you have remain yours.
2.2 License You Grant Us
To provide the Service, you grant us a limited license to:
- Store and back up your content on our servers
- Display your content back to you
- Transmit your content as necessary for the Service to function
This license exists only so we can operate the Service. We won't use your content for any other purpose.
2.3 We Don't Train AI on Your Code
We will not use your private code to train AI models. Your code is not used to improve or train any machine learning or artificial intelligence systems unless you explicitly opt in to such a program.
3. AI Assistance Features
3.1 AI-Generated Suggestions
When you use our AI assistance features, you receive suggestions generated by AI models. You own any code or content you create using these suggestions, subject to the following:
- Similar outputs: AI may generate similar suggestions for different users based on similar prompts
- No guarantees: AI suggestions may contain errors, bugs, or security vulnerabilities
- Your responsibility: You must review, test, and validate any AI-generated code before using it
3.2 Bring Your Own API Keys
When you use your own API keys for AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.):
- Your prompts and code context are sent directly to those providers
- You must comply with those providers' terms of service
- We are not responsible for how those providers handle your data
Important: AI-generated code may have errors or security issues. Always review and test code before using it in production.
4. API Keys and Secrets
If you store API keys, tokens, or other secrets in Cosyra:
- You are responsible for the security of your credentials
- We encrypt stored secrets using industry-standard encryption
- We recommend rotating keys regularly and using the minimum permissions needed
- We are not liable for unauthorized access to or use of your credentials
Never share your API keys with others or commit them to public repositories.
5. Cloud Terminal Sessions
When using Cosyra's cloud terminal features:
- Sessions run in isolated, encrypted containers
- Session data is temporary and deleted after your session ends (plus a short retention period for debugging)
- You must comply with the Acceptable Use Policy below
- Resource usage may be limited based on your plan
6. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree not to use Cosyra to:
6.1 Illegal Activities
- Violate any laws or regulations
- Infringe on intellectual property rights
- Distribute illegal content
6.2 Security Violations
- Access systems or networks without authorization
- Probe, scan, or test vulnerabilities without permission
- Distribute malware, viruses, or exploits
- Circumvent security measures
- Participate in or launch DDoS attacks
6.3 Resource Abuse
- Cryptocurrency mining is prohibited without explicit written approval
- Excessive resource consumption that impacts other users
- Running botnets or automated attack tools
- Reselling or redistributing access to the Service
6.4 Harmful Content
- Harassment, abuse, or threats
- Content that violates others' privacy
- Defamatory or fraudulent content
7. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with and relies upon third-party services to provide core functionality. These include, but are not limited to:
- Authentication: Firebase Authentication, Google Sign-In, Sign in with Apple, GitHub OAuth
- Cloud infrastructure: Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Subscription management: RevenueCat, Apple App Store, Google Play Store
- Analytics and diagnostics: Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics
- Notifications: Firebase Cloud Messaging
- AI providers: Anthropic, Google, OpenAI (accessed via your own API keys within your terminal session)
When you use these third-party services through Cosyra:
- You must comply with each provider's applicable terms of service
- We do not control and are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or security of third-party services
- We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of third-party services
- Third-party integrations may change, be updated, or be discontinued if the underlying APIs or services change

8. Paid Plans and Billing
8.1 Free Trial and Paid Plans
Cosyra offers a free trial for new users. After the trial period, a paid Pro subscription is required for continued access. Plan features are described at the time of purchase.
8.2 Billing and Auto-Renewal
- Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
- Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
- Your App Store or Google Play account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current billing period at the rate of the selected plan

You may manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal at any time
from your device's subscription settings:
- Apple: Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions
- Google: Google Play > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions
- Price changes will be communicated with at least 30 days notice. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing
8.3 Free Trials
If a free trial is offered, it will convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless you cancel before the trial expires. Any unused portion of a free trial will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
8.4 Refunds
Subscription payments are processed by Apple or Google and are subject to their respective refund policies. If you have concerns about charges, you may request a refund through the App Store or Google Play, or contact us at hello@portablesoftware.co.
9. Termination
9.1 By You
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time through your account settings in the app. For instructions, visit our account deletion page. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel your subscription — please cancel your subscription through your device's subscription settings before deleting your account.
9.2 By Us
We may suspend or terminate your account if you:
- Violate these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy
- Engage in illegal activity
- Fail to pay for paid services
- Create security risks for us or other users
For serious violations, we may terminate immediately. For other issues, we'll try to give you notice and a chance to fix the problem.
9.3 After Termination
When your account is terminated:
- Your access to the Service stops immediately
- You have 30 days to export your data (if termination wasn't for serious violations)
- After the export period, we delete your data
10. Intellectual Property
10.1 Our IP
Cosyra, including its design, features, and code, is our intellectual property. These Terms don't give you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or branding.
10.2 Copyright Complaints (DMCA)
We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content on Cosyra infringes your copyright, contact us at hello@portablesoftware.co with:
- Description of the copyrighted work
- Location of the allegedly infringing content
- Your contact information
- A statement that you have a good faith belief the use is unauthorized
- A statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate
- Your physical or electronic signature
We terminate accounts of repeat infringers.
11. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE. WE DO NOT WARRANT THE ACCURACY OR RELIABILITY OF ANY AI-GENERATED CONTENT.
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, COSYRA SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100).
SOME JURISDICTIONS DON'T ALLOW THESE LIMITATIONS, SO THEY MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
13. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Cosyra from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of the Service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights
- Content you create or upload
14. Dispute Resolution
14.1 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
14.2 Informal Resolution
Before filing any legal claim, you agree to try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us at hello@portablesoftware.co. We will attempt to resolve the issue within 60 days.
14.3 Arbitration
If we can't resolve the dispute informally, you agree to resolve it through binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association. Arbitration will be conducted in English.
Opt-out: You can opt out of arbitration by emailing us within 30 days of creating your account. Include your name, email, and a clear statement that you opt out of arbitration.
14.4 Class Action Waiver
You agree to resolve disputes with us individually and not as part of a class action, collective action, or representative proceeding.
14.5 Exceptions
Either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property violations or unauthorized access to the Service.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make significant changes:
- We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top
- We'll notify you by email or through the Service
- Continued use after changes means you accept the new Terms
16. General
- Entire Agreement: These Terms, along with our Privacy Policy, are the complete agreement between you and Cosyra.
- Severability: If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
- No Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right doesn't waive that right.
- Assignment: You can't transfer your rights under these Terms. We can transfer ours in connection with a merger or acquisition.
