Pricing FAQ

Common pricing questions, answered straight.

The objection-handling we wish every pricing page would do up front. Free-tier mechanics, what counts as a compute hour, how we compare to metered alternatives, and how to cancel.

Does the 1-hour free signup require a credit card?
No. Signing up gives you 1 hour of compute with no card, no trial enrollment, and no auto-charge. Sign in with Apple, Google, or email and the container is ready. When you want more, you can opt into a 10-hour, 7-day free trial — still no card. After that, Pro is $29.99/month or $300/year. Full breakdown on the FAQ page.
What's the difference between the 1-hour signup grant and the 10-hour free trial?
Two layers, both free. The 1-hour grant is unconditional — every signup gets it the moment they finish onboarding, no card, no trial flag set. The 10-hour, 7-day trial is an opt-in extension you choose to start when the first hour runs out, still no card. We split them this way so a developer can try Claude Code on an actual phone in five minutes without committing to a trial they have to remember to cancel.
How does Cosyra pricing compare to GitHub Codespaces or Replit Core on mobile?
Different shapes. Codespaces is metered: GitHub Free gets 120 core-hours of 2-core compute per month, then it is pay-as-you-go at $0.18/hr for 2-core and $0.07 per GB-month for storage (GitHub billing docs) — and there is no native iOS or Android app, so you are in mobile Safari rendering vscode.dev. Replit Core is $20/month annual ($25 monthly) and gives you $25 in agent credits, which is a credit meter rather than a flat compute allowance, and Replit is now positioned as a "vibe coding" app builder rather than a Linux terminal. Cosyra is flat — $29.99/month for 120 hours of compute, 30 GB persistent storage, hibernation, and native iOS and Android apps. We picked flat pricing so the bill does not surprise you the month you push a hard refactor. Side-by-side: Cosyra vs Codespaces on mobile and Cosyra vs Replit mobile.
What counts as a compute hour in the Pro 120 hours/month?
Active session time, not wall-clock time. A container that is hibernating because you closed the app does not burn hours — when you reopen the app the session resumes and the meter starts again. Containers pause after 10 minutes of inactivity. In practice 120 hours covers four hours a day every day, which is more than most agent-driven sessions need because you are reviewing diffs and directing the agent, not idling at the prompt.
Does Pro include the Claude, OpenAI, or Gemini API usage, or do I pay that separately?
Separately. Cosyra is bring-your-own-key (BYOK). You paste your Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google API key into the container and pay the model provider directly. The Pro subscription covers the Ubuntu container, persistent storage, hibernation, and the four pre-installed CLIs — not model tokens. We do this so a heavy Claude Code user can run on their Anthropic-billing account and a light Codex user can run on a small OpenAI account without subsidizing each other. More on BYOK in the main FAQ.
Can I cancel anytime? How do refunds work through the App Store and Google Play?
Yes, cancel anytime. Pro is an in-app subscription, so cancellation happens in your App Store or Google Play account settings — not on cosyra.com — and access continues until the end of the period you already paid for. Refunds follow each store's standard policy: Apple processes through reportaproblem.apple.com, Google Play through the Play Store account → "Payments & subscriptions" → "Report a problem." If something is wrong on our side, contact us first and we will help work the refund through.
Is annual the right call, or should I start monthly?
Start monthly. $29.99 for the first month is the cheapest way to find out whether agent-driven coding from a phone fits your actual day. If after that month the answer is yes, annual is $300/year (~$25/month) — you save about two months. We see the same pattern internally: people start monthly during a commute or an on-call rotation, then switch to annual once the habit sticks.
Does one Pro subscription cover iPhone, iPad, Android, and the web client?
Yes. One Cosyra account = one persistent Ubuntu container, reachable from iPhone, iPad, Android, and any browser. You start a Claude Code session on the train from your phone, switch to iPad with a Magic Keyboard at the coffee shop, and pick up the same shell, the same git state, the same ~/.bashrc. The Claude Code on iPad guide walks through the Split View flow we use most.
